Every session begins with authentication. The console validates the operator's Employee ID and password against the local user directory, and logs a Login event to the audit trail with timestamp and source IP.

1. Employee ID pre-fills to the last logged-in user
2. Password field · minimum 4 characters for the demo build
3. Remember me keeps the Employee ID after sign out (password never stored)
4. Sign In button is enabled once password is valid

System access is limited to authorised personnel. Each login writes an immutable audit entry: id · timestamp · user · source IP · result.
